Understanding the Vision Statement (knowing the key words are important):

REACHING — To arrive at, get as far as, to touch or grasp

THE NATIONS —

From Genesis to Revelation, God is unfolding His glory towards the nations and saving a people from every tribe… every tongue… and every nation
This word ethnos is where we get the word nation (ethni is the plural form)
It is the word in Matthew 28:18, where Jesus says to “go and make disciples of all ethni"
And again, in Revelation 7:9, the same word is used: “I saw a great multitude (that no one could number)... from every ethnos…”
Same word—nation—but one is singular and one is plural
Both words are referring to the same idea (that representatives from all nations will be gathered around the throne of Jesus one day)
This word (ethnos) is not a country with borders like we have countries today
These are people groups… nations… ethni
According to the Joshua Project there are 17,446 distinct people groups in the world today (representing 8 billion people)
And there are still 7,391 still unreached people groups (representing 3.4 billion people)
That is 42.4% of the population still unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ
